The Bahá'í Faith

The Bahá'í Faith is the youngest of the world's independent religions. Bahá’ís regard Bahá'u'lláh [1817-1892] as the most recent in the line of Messengers of God, which includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, Jesus, and Muhammad.

Bahá’u’lláh brought new spiritual and social teachings for our time. His essential message is of unity; the oneness of God, the oneness of the human family, and the oneness of religion.

Bahá'ís Believe...

  • All humanity is one family
  • Women and men are equal
  • All prejudice - racial, religious, national, or economic - is destructive and must be overcome
  • We must investigate truth for ourselves, without preconceptions
  • Science and religion are in harmony
  • Our economic problems are linked to spiritual problems
  • The family and its unity are very important
  • There is one God
  • All major religions come from God
  • World peace is the crying need of our time

"Let your vision be world-embracing, rather than confined to your own self" -- Bahá'ulláh

"O ye rich ones on Earth!  The poor in your midst are My trust; guard ye My trust, and be not intent only on your own ease." -- Bahá’u’lláh

"My object is none other than the betterment of the world and the tranquility of its peoples." -- Bahá'ulláh
